Who are we?

I can't code, can I still join?
Of course! Our hackathon is open to all, beginners all the way to more advanced students! Let us know in the registration form if you are less experienced in programming and we will make sure you have access to mentors to guide you on your way through the Hackathon. Remember, anyone can code, we just need a path to follow!
How do I apply?
You can simply register by filling out our register now form. You can find it on the home page of the website.
What if I don't have an idea?
That's expected! Most students won't have an idea before they get to the event. Once you start talking with other people, you may come up with something. You may also have the opportunity to work with someone if you like their idea. Don't worry about it!
I live internationally, can I still join?
Yes! We are excited to announce that we will be opening High Tech Hacks to international students this year.
How much does it cost to attend?
It's absolutely, positively, 100% free!
Is this only for New Jersey high school students?
Not at all! This Hackathon is open to all 50 states and U.S. territories, as well as the international community. We understand not all international students have a similar education system, so as long as you are within the ages 14-19, or currently in grades 9-12 (or the international equivalent), you're eligible!
Can I partner with my friends?
You will have the ability to team with up to 3 other people in our registration form. However, if you don't already have a group to work with, we'll help you find one!
Why should I apply?
Hackathons are a great way to meet people and collaborate with others in your field of expertise. You can also show off your skills since hackathons challenge attendees to exhibit their ability to innovate and create compelling, real-world solutions. Another huge benefit is you get to learn new skills and attain new knowledge!
Do I have to travel?
Nope!
High Tech Hacks will be 100% virtual this year, not only to provide a COVID-19 free working environment but to allow for more people to participate in this event with us.
