-
The CSS necessary to create a simple company page.
Preparation:
-
If you are new to HTML and CSS, we highly recommend trying yourself the first chapter Create a company landing page at this link https://app.qoom.io/tutorials/login-system/guide.md. You don't need to understand 100%. We won't cover details of basic HTML and CSS to build a landing page due to the limited time.
This workshop is best for people who have a basic understanding of HTML and CSS, but we welcome all people to come and discover the joy of coding and the power of coding with Qoom. Come and learn to take your skills to the next level!
Let's go through some security habits and intuitions that are useful to have for anyone that wants to work as a developer or in IT!
Ready to move on, Shawn Wang quit his $350k a year job in finance. Taking a leap of faith, he used freeCodeCamp and other resources to learn coding. Since then, Shawn has worked as a freelance developer and at several companies including Netlify, Amazon Web Services, and now Temporal. Hear about his journey through finance and into coding in this event and have a chance to ask your own questions!
Join returning Intel software engineer Mara Hart in this workshop on how to build a 24/7 Discord Bot. Add some fun to your Discord chats with these bots and show off your new skills!

Continue Hacking!
An informative introduction to the basics of Git and GitHub, necessary tools for many software engineers to know!
Join Jason Serafica, a full-stack software engineer, community organizer and advocate for underrepresented youth, in their intro to web design workshop! From basic HTML to the foundations of bootstrap, Jason will be helping you along the journey of building a website.
Julian Hunt: Intro to JavaScript
In this talk you will learn a little bit about everything about Javascript. We’ll talk a little bit about the history of the language, how it works under the hood, and how it’s used in the real world. In the second half of the talk we will create and implement a small feature in a website live and discuss how you can set up your own web development environment on your computer. Many engineers think that Javascript is taking over the world, and it’s certainly an important language to learn!
Julian is a Software Engineering intern at Shell TechWorks, where he works on several mobile and web applications that facilitate the construction, setup and maintenance of energy plants around the world. Julian is a junior at Columbia studying computer science. He enjoys working on web development projects and systems programming projects in his free time.

Hacks
is a Hackathon, cohosted by High Tech's two leading STEM-focused clubs, SHPE and Tech Club, that seeks to bring together a diverse group of high school talent to invent, create, and push the boundaries of technology. By providing opportunities to explore the world of computer science and engineering to underrepresented groups, HighTechHacks seeks to bridge the representation gap in the tech industry.
